Yup…its us alrite.
This trip to Craigieburn Ski Valley was extra special as we came to know an amazingly beautiful and diverse group of people. They came from all over the world, thanks to the New Zealand government through their NZAid program. We were also very thankful that the staffs at Lincoln university went to such great lengths to make us feel at home, hosting us on their precious weekend to give us an opportunity to experience this beautiful country. People, landscape, food and a rare parrot bird called Kea.
Car kept a distance away from each other fearing stray stones
A few kilometer uphill drive on unpaved road brought is toe Craigieburn Valley Ski Area. We were lucky to have been able to book the Lincoln Uni accomodation as in a matter of few weeks after our visit, the entire area will be fully booked by skiers. We have the whole place to ourselves…awesome!
Our first visit to a ski area
We made it to our first ski mountain in New Zealand just before the season started. This was a trip organized by members of the university and we decided to join them as we know quite a few of the folks on the trip. A two days one night trip, this would be our first visit to a ‘soon be covered’ with snow mountain. With Yang Yang along, it is always extra worry for me and extra joy for Meun.
